What you'd actually do

  1. Design and implement Microsoft Quantum software and firmware subsystems for quantum hardware.
  2. Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
  3. Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
  4. With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
  5. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) programming experience in related programming languages

Nice to have

  • coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java or Rust
  • Experience administering and developing on Windows
  • Ability to identify problem areas, drive issues to closure and ensure solid root cause understanding
  • Problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of software development and testing practices
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency (e.g., performance modeling and analysis, research gathering, day to day task automation)
  • Ability to work in an “AI-first” environment using modern AI tools to accelerate discovery through hardware development
