Software Engineer - Early Career

Datadog Datadog · Enterprise · Lisbon, Portugal · Early Career

Early-career Software Engineers at Datadog will work on large-scale, real-time systems for observability and security, focusing on collecting, aggregating, visualizing, and analyzing metrics, logs, and application data. The role involves solving scaling bottlenecks, deploying features, fixing production issues, optimizing services, and planning projects. While not core AI development, the role encourages leveraging AI tools for coding and problem-solving, with a bonus for contributing to AI-enabled products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Solve a scaling bottleneck in a critical service
  2. Deploy a new feature to production and progressively roll it out with feature flags
  3. Investigate and fix a production issue from a service your team owns
  4. Create a way to optimize a service to handle more traffic at scale
  5. In partnership with your team, plan the most important projects to work on next
