Full stack developer for scientific workflow management applications in a healthcare/discovery setting, focusing on lab processes like assay requests, plate definitions, and sample tracking. What you'd actually do

  1. Work with laboratory scientists to develop new features and enhance existing functionality for workflow management, including assay request handling, plate definitions, and sample tracking and results analysis
  2. Maintain and extend integrations with internal / external APIs
  3. Design, implement and test database schema changes, write efficient queries for PostgreSQL
  4. Write unit tests, integration tests, and ensure code coverage
  5. Demonstrate best practice on code quality, documentation, CI/CD rigor, and architectural best practices, ensuring our research code is robust enough for enterprise production.
  6. Serve as a bridge between discovery teams, and IT/Cloud organizations, converting scientific intent into rigorous engineering specifications.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience building full stack Django applications in Life Sciences, Biotech, or a similar R&D environment
  • Active GitHub profile with public contributions demonstrating experience in Python.
  • Experince with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Django ORM, migrations, and model design
  • Experience with Django REST Framework for API development
  • Experience implementing robust CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ADME assays or compound management systems
  • Knowledge of cheminformatics or pharmaceutical research workflows
  • Strong ability to optimize SQL queries and design efficient schemas for high-throughput data.
  • Knowledge of AWS ecosystems (Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments.
