Software Engineer, Identity & Access Controls

Anthropic Anthropic · AI Frontier · San Francisco, CA · Safeguards (Trust & Safety)

Software Engineer role focused on building identity, vetting, and access management infrastructure for Anthropic's AI systems. This includes systems for verifying customers, granting/revoking access to advanced capabilities, and monitoring for misuse and account takeover. The role also involves integrating with third-party vendors and creating monitoring dashboards and admin tooling. While the company builds AI, this specific role focuses on the operational and security infrastructure around access to those AI capabilities, rather than building the AI models themselves.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build identity verification and vetting systems (KYC/KYB) that establish who our individual and business customers are
  2. Design and implement access control systems that grant, scope, and revoke access to advanced capabilities based on approved use cases
  3. Build infrastructure to configure safety systems and detection thresholds on a per-customer basis for trusted access programs
  4. Develop monitoring to detect misuse of expanded access, and tooling that enables enforcement teams to act on it
  5. Detect and remediate account takeover
