Full Stack Software Engineer II for Messaging Security Products division, focusing on threat visibility and exploration, and adaptive classifications. The role involves building and maintaining core offerings in email security and threat visibility, with a primary focus on back-end development (80%) and some front-end responsibilities (20%). The goal is to improve visibility into detected threats, enable intuitive search and filtering of threat data for SOC teams, and support SOC workflow automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and execute software projects that are crucial to Abnormal’s success, in collaboration with a team of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation
  2. Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
  3. Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and GTM teams to implement, verify, and iterate on issues and requests from our customers
  4. Raise the standard of excellence in engineering by actively sharing knowledge within the team and engaging in professional development activities
  5. Hit the ground running by contributing to the team's work within the first two weeks

Skills

Required

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
  • 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications
  • Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
  • Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices, and conventions
  • Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
  • Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
  • Experience working with LLM-powered tools and AI assistants
  • Knowledge of containerization
  • Experience with distributed systems
