Software Engineer II with Test Equipment role focused on designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining software for on-site factory support of systems for weapon system product development. Responsibilities include developing applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using C#, C++ in a Windows environment, troubleshooting software and test equipment, and working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop and integrate object-oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio in a Windows Operating System (OS)
  2. Prioritize and handle multiple software engineering tasks concurrently
  3. Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation
  4. Work in a multidiscipline engineering team environment
  5. Develop and derive requirements for software products

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • minimum 2 years prior relevant experience
  • developing and integrating software applications using programming languages including but not limited to C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic
  • utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools
  • Windows Operating System
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of the development of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces
  • Knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP or UDP
  • Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles, such as Waterfall and Agile
  • Knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills
