Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a high-impact BigQuery feature, shaping its direction and making key decisions.
- Contribute to expanding BigQuery's capabilities and attract new customers.
- Collaborate closely with other BigQuery teams, both on the data and control planes as well as other database teams (Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, etc.).
- Solve complex problems that combine distributed systems, query optimization, compute pushdowns, security, and data integration.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with software engineering in Java and C++.
- Experience in data processing, distributed systems, or database internals.
- Experience with BigQuery or other data warehousing technologies.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
