Software Engineer III role within JPMorgan Chase's Cloud Foundational Services in the Infrastructure Platform. What you'd actually do

  1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Skills

Required

  • Proven experience in software engineering
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in coding in multiple languages with strong understanding of core development concepts including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private jpmc) including cloud-native services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure management
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing methodologies, code review practices, and debugging techniques

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and work effectively across different programming languages and technology stacks as business needs evolve
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and cloud automation tools
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design patterns
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other emerging technologies
