Software Engineer role focused on Netflix's Compute Control Plane and Capacity team, responsible for services that ensure capacity for Netflix's cloud infrastructure. This involves launching millions of containers, managing compute capacity, and building platforms for engineers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Control Plane Services launching millions of containers on our Kubernetes-based container platform, evolving its performance, efficiency, and reach.
  2. Building the platform that Kubernetes operators at Netflix run on.
  3. Drive the evolution of systems and tooling used to manage hundreds of millions of dollars in Compute capacity annually at Netflix.
  4. Influence engineering excellence and set a high bar for operational rigor within the team.
  5. Form strong cross-functional partnerships to achieve alignment with many engineering teams, ensuring our solutions meet their needs while maintaining our focus on scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

Skills

Required

  • Hands-on experience with running containerized platforms
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures and distributed systems
  • deep experience operating critical Tier 0 services at scale
  • Platform experience building for engineers
  • Able to break down complexity, iterate, and communicate progress to a wide variety of partners and stakeholders
  • AI fluency in leveraging AI to assist with coding, design, and operations

Nice to have

  • Experience with running compute on multiple platforms, both cloud-based and on-premises
  • Proven track record of timely execution with upholding engineering excellence while building trust with partners/customers
