Software Engineer - Perception (fallback Stack)

Applied Intuition Applied Intuition · Robotics · Sunnyvale, CA · SDS Software Engineering

Software Engineer role focused on building perception capabilities for autonomous vehicles within a simulation engine. The role involves designing and implementing perception and uncertainty signals to gate fallback behaviors, ensuring safe operation and ODD expansion. Experience with ML for uncertainty estimation, confidence calibration, or OOD detection is required, along with production-grade software practices in C++ and/or Python.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and implement simulation capabilities and workflows to enable cutting-edge real-world perception system development
  2. Work closely with our sensor simulation team to ensure we build the best range of multi-fidelity simulation models
  3. Work closely with our infrastructure team to provide the best enterprise software for engineering, testing, and product teams at our customers
  4. Design perception and uncertainty signals that gate fallback behaviors.
  5. Deploy production systems that directly impact vehicle safety and ODD expansion
