Job Description
CyberSource Corporation, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant level (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to
- Design and code highly scalable and reliable transaction processing systems.
- API development.
- Establish engineering best practices for end to end application development, testing, deployment and monitoring.
- Developing event-driven applications.
- Deploying application using containerization technologies and orchestration tools. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer – Sr. Consultant level-related occupation.
Position requires:
- Designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure distributed applications (using REST, JSON)
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Java, Python).
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Tomcat and Spring Framework
- Kafka and MQ
- Automated and scalable CI/CD tools, including Jenkins and Maven
- Distributed caching technologies Hazelcast and Redis
- AI/ML Tools & Technologies (RAG, Fine Tuning, Context Engineering)
Additional Information
Worksite:** **Austin, TX
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
