Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer to build and enhance advertising systems and integrations, focusing on media planning solutions that enable advertisers to plan, allocate, and optimize media investments. The role involves developing applications and APIs for the media planning process, providing performance transparency, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value in the rapidly growing Connected TV advertising space.

What you'd actually do

  1. Building applications and APIs that support every stage of the media planning process, from initial plan creation and inventory allocation through to campaign activation and completion.
  2. Delivering transparency on media plan performance and providing users with actionable insights to optimize their planning strategies.
  3. Partnering with stakeholders across the Ads Platform (Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Design) to develop scalable, impactful media planning solutions that drive business value.

Skills

Required

  • Experience in building first party tools, APIs and services that leverage data and real-time insights to support media planning workflows.
  • Understanding of how media planning workflow works with other parts of an ads platform like pre-sales to delivery for a holistic view of the business.
  • Familiarity with RFPs and pre-sales processes through to campaign activation
  • Familiarity with AHC (agency holding cos) planning tools, and various forms of media planning support enabled through integrations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with building modern backend and frontend applications on cloud / AWS using Java, Spring Boot, React, GraphQL, Node.js or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices, NoSQL databases, queues like Apache Kafka and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Nice to have

  • Contributed to an ads industry technology standard (e.g VAST, OpenRTB) or worked on an industry consortium effort, working group etc.
  • Familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations around the world.
  • Experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its unique constraints
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML/genAI techniques and an ability to apply them to sales processes such as channel, product, targeting, budget recommendations.
