Software Engineering Architect

Salesforce Salesforce · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA +1

Salesforce is seeking a Software Engineering Architect to design high-scale, agentic systems for their Spiff (Incentive Compensation Management) platform. The role involves defining architectural initiatives for the core Commission Engine, calculation frameworks, database, infrastructure, performance optimization, and Data Cloud connectivity. Key responsibilities include architecting AI-native application services, designing agentic systems with vector database scaling and token-efficient caching, leveraging AI tools like Claude Code or Codex, orchestrating AI 'pair-architect' workflows, and implementing governance, observability, and safety guardrails. The role also involves integrating with the Salesforce Agentic Framework using RAG and Vector Databases, and owning the data architecture.

What you'd actually do

  1. AI-Native ICM Application Services & Infrastructure Architect
  2. Lead the design of a reusable calculation engine framework that enables the integration of external business domains while maintaining accuracy, auditability, and extensibility.
  3. Partner with Salesforce Data Cloud teams to design secure, high-throughput data connectivity patterns that enable admin users to seamlessly sync compensation data with Salesforce's unified data layer.
  4. Architect infrastructure management patterns including automated guardrails, health monitoring (Pulse), and proactive customer and internal alerting to ensure platform reliability and SLA compliance.
