An exciting opportunity has become available to join Boeing Poland sp. z o.o. as Software Engineering Manager, based in Poland.
Hiring details:
- This requisition is for a locally hired position in Gdańsk. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leading, mentoring, managing and overseeing a team of Software Engineers to deliver the highest quality aviation software products
- Collaborating proactively with stakeholders, peers and direct reports to understand operational and performance expectations, contributing to departmental vision, strategy and execution plan
- Defining departmental execution plan to set and effectively achieve operational goals
- Project estimation and planning
- Monitoring project progress and providing regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders
- Improving engineering team strength through active resource training and recruitment of the best talent
- Working with other similar groups across the enterprise cultivating common design solutions
- Cultivating a positive staff culture, team motivation and development
- Working across functions including procurement, finance, scheduling, contracts, et al
- Supporting the team to improve internal technologies that standardize designs, mitigate risk and improve overall efficiency
- Standard administration of labor recording, expense reports, charge line authorizations and performance reviews
- Developing/maturing team metrics in support of safety, quality, and productivity
- Driving continues improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies
- Participating in hiring, onboarding, and building a high-performing Software Engineering team
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience leading software projects
- 3+ years of experience leading software teams
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle
- Experience in managing certified/safety critical software development projects
- Experience building relationships with internal/external customers
- Collaborating in international and multi-national projects/teams
- Demonstrated design and system thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
