Software Engineering Manager, Data Protection Platform

Verkada is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Data Protection Platform. This role focuses on building security and privacy capabilities for Verkada's Command Platform, including developing platform services and expanding Enterprise-Controlled Encryption. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering and management, with a strong background in distributed systems and a desire to write code daily.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner closely with engineering and product teams to improve the security of Verkada’s products and exceed customers’ expectations
  2. Build security and privacy platform services for Verkada’s Command SaaS platform, then drive adoption of these services across Verkada
  3. Expand the adoption of Enterprise-Controlled Encryption in Verkada’s products
  4. Collaborate with the CISO to grow the broader Verkada security programs
  5. Share your security experience with other teams internally and externally via security conferences, presentations, blogs, and open source

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager
  • Leadership experience building distributed systems with high quality, scalability and reliability
  • Demonstrable coding skills and desire to write code every day
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
