Software Engineering Manager Ii, Cohesive Agentic Experiences

Google Google · Big Tech · San Jose, CA +1

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager II to lead the development of Cohesive Agentic Experiences (CAE), a transformative initiative to make Google an AI-powered enterprise. This role involves evolving internal tools into a unified, proactive, and context-aware agentic ecosystem, leading the development of autonomous agent capabilities and transformative agentic workflows. The manager will steer a growing team building a large-scale agentic platform and a unified "Super Agent" capability for all Googlers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the technical strategy for a unified agent platform layer, defining declarative, surface-agnostic dynamic UI standards.
  2. Drive the execution of high-impact productivity journeys aimed at significantly reducing manual toil across the enterprise. Navigate high-velocity environments, leading teams from rapid prototyping through to large-scale production deployment.
  3. Architect autonomous agent capabilities leveraging enterprise services and proactive context retrieval to simplify complex internal processes. Collaborate with UX and infrastructure teams to deliver adaptive interfaces that surface intent-driven outcomes and hide architectural complexity.
  4. Establish engineering norms for scalability, reliability, and quality in agentic systems, ensuring they meet rigorous enterprise production standards.
  5. Advocate a "One Google" culture that fosters transparency while managing a different organization of engineers and managers.
