Software Engineering Manager II for Google Cloud's Persistent Disk team, responsible for leading a team of engineers to build and manage high-performance block storage solutions for Google Compute Engine VMs. The role involves technical leadership, people management, project goal setting, product strategy contribution, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of exabyte-scale storage.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set and communicate team priorities that support the organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  2. Set expectations with people based on their level and role and aligned to the organization's goals. Meet regularly with people to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
  3. Develop the technical goal and roadmap within the scope of the teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
  4. Design and guide systems designs within the scope of the area, and write product or system development code to solve problems.
  5. Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
