Software Engineering Manager, Open Source Security

Manage a team of software engineers focused on securing the global open-source supply chain by developing insights into software dependencies and integrating them into Google’s software factory. Oversee the development of open-source projects and APIs for transparency and security tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and manage a team of software engineers, helping to maintain and grow culture and psychological safety. Support career development of team members, and be a good coach.
  2. Lead the overall planning, execution, and success of projects, as well as operations of services in support of the internet.
  3. Work with Product Management (PM), User Experience (UX), Technical Program Manager (TPM), and partner teams to ensure that we are building the best solutions possible.
  4. Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the area, and write product or system development code to solve problems.
  5. Respond to new AI capabilities, leveraging them for defense in the changing security environment.
