Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities related to simulation framework deployments for Boeing's Simulation Frameworks, Services, and Tools (SFST) Deployment team. The role involves developing and executing project plans, managing relationships with stakeholders, and providing oversight of technical approaches. The team's suite of tools supports software verification, hardware verification, aircrew trainers, and warfare scenario simulation.

  1. Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities related to simulation framework deployments
  2. Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals that help the Boeing Company meet its commitments
  3. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  4. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Identify opportunities for improvement
  5. Support, develop, and motivate employees

Skills

Required

  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • US Security Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
  • 5+ years of experience with the software development life cycle

Nice to have

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Active security clearance
  • 3+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities
  • Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, management/business skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to change
  • Strong background in simulation software engineering
  • Strong background in software testing
  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software
  • Knowledgeable of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines
