Manages a team of software engineers focused on developing emulation software for hardware verification, software verification, and product innovation within the aerospace and defense industry. The role involves all aspects of the software development lifecycle, team leadership, and stakeholder management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities related to emulation and embedded software
  2. Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals that help the Boeing Company meet its commitments
  3. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  4. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Identify opportunities for improvement
  5. Support, develop, and motivate employees

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors Degree
  • leadership role experience
  • US Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • 5+ years of experience with the software development life cycle
  • 2+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry

Nice to have

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, management/business skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to change
  • Strong background in embedded software engineering
  • Strong background in hardware and low-level software design
  • Knowledgeable of industry standards for high-integrity, safety-critical software
  • Knowledgeable of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration pipelines
