Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. Responsibilities include integrating into products, ensuring process execution in development, testing, and release of software deliverables, assisting with code reviews, product reviews, configuration audits, test witnessing, and post-test analysis, supporting scrum teams, monitoring product health, assisting with software quality reporting metrics, and maintaining a focus on software quality, collaboration, process, and continuous improvement. Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM, a minimum of 2 years of related experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Experience with metrics, task prioritization, requirements analysis, and the software development lifecycle is required. Preferred qualifications include an active DoD Secret clearance, experience developing QA plans, process monitoring, data collection, analysis, metric reporting, peer reviews, code reviews, software build qualification testing, understanding software code, using programming languages, enterprise-wide systems, audits of engineering processes, AS9100, and Agile development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist with code reviews, product reviews, configuration audits, test witnessing, and post-test analysis as needed.
  2. Support individual product scrum team(s) by attending meetings and monitoring the health of the product(s). Offer suggestions for improvement to the software leadership.
  3. Assist with Software Quality reporting metrics when required.
  4. Become fluent in the use of tools: Jira, Confluence, DOORS or others as needed.
  5. Maintain a focus on software quality, collaboration, process and continuous improvement.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • 2 years related experience
  • Ability to obtain an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Experience using metrics for process health and performance monitoring
  • Experience in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Experience evaluating, tracing, and analysis of requirements
  • Software development lifecycle experience

Nice to have

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience developing and implementing Software Quality Assurance plans
  • Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting
