Software Support Engineer role focused on supporting, configuring, and fixing advanced electric "smart" meters, firmware, and large-scale metering software systems. Responsibilities include technical customer support, diagnosing complex issues, answering technical questions, and working with engineering for solutions and improvements. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, and three years of technical software or application support experience. Experience with Python, Powershell, SQL, and databases is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Technical customer support via web portal, phone, and email
  2. Diagnose complex software, hardware, and firmware problems or configuration issues
  3. Answer customer technical questions regarding electric meter operation, configuration, and firmware programming
  4. Work with Engineering to seek out problems, drive solutions, and improvements back into products
  5. Document common solutions, procedures, tips, and tricks in Knowledge Base articles

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Three years of technical software or application support

  • Proven successful track record in technical customer support
  • Experience working with solutions involving software
  • Experience with electricity, gas, water metering and/or electric utilities

  • Bilingual in Spanish
