Solution Engineer - Tooling (vehicle Intelligence)

Applied Intuition Applied Intuition · Robotics · Munich, Stuttgart · Engineering

This role focuses on the tooling and infrastructure for building and validating intelligent systems, specifically in the automotive ADAS/AD domain. The Solution Engineer will act as a technical point of contact, leading demonstrations and integrations of Applied Intuition's simulation and data management toolchain. Key responsibilities include guiding customers through data flywheel design, configuring testing, and translating feedback to the engineering team. The role requires experience in ADAS/AD development, validation, or simulation, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, and understanding of automotive sensors and data management. While not directly building AI models, the role is deeply involved in the infrastructure and data pipelines that support AI development and validation in a regulated industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers evaluating Applied Intuition’s simulation and data management tooling
  2. Lead demonstrations, proof-of-concept deployments, and integration workshops for the full toolchain
  3. Support customers in integrating Applied’s platform into their ADAS/AD CI/CD pipelines (SIL, HIL, VIL stages)
  4. Guide customers through the design of closed-loop data flywheels: data collection strategy, curation, labeling, scenario extraction, simulation replay, and evaluation
  5. Help customers configure scenario-based testing and automated pass/fail metrics for their validation programs

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in ADAS/AD development, validation, or simulation at an OEM, Tier 1, or technology company
  • Hands-on experience with software testing methodologies (unit, SIL, HIL, VIL) for automotive applications
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in an automotive or embedded software context
  • Understanding of sensor types used in ADAS (camera, lidar, radar, ultrasonic) and their data characteristics
  • Experience with data management pipelines: ingestion, curation, labeling, or scenario extraction
  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or related field
  • Intermediate Programming experience in Python and/or C++
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have

  • Customer-facing experience and strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with a simulation platform (Applied Intuition, CARLA, IPG CarMaker, dSPACE SIMPHERA, VIRES VTD, or similar)
  • Familiarity with dSPACE, Vector, or NI toolchains for HIL/SIL test automation
  • Knowledge of ISO 8800, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, or ASPICE
  • Experience with ML/AI pipelines for model training or perception system evaluation
  • Background in fleet data operations, OTA, or post-SOP data-driven improvement loops
  • German and/or additional European language
