AWS Canada drives adoption of the AWS cloud across Retail and Travel & Hospitality customers, enabling organizations to innovate, and transform their business. We are seeking a Solutions Architect to act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers design and build scalable, secure, and innovative cloud solutions by working backward from their business challenges.
In this role, you will partner with customers, sales, and cross-functional AWS teams to guide complex technology decisions and accelerate adoption. You will design architectures and build prototypes to help customers deliver business outcomes. Key job responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure cloud architectures to support migration, modernization, and the development of cloud-native and AI-driven solutions
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and customer advocate, helping customers identify both opportunities and risks in their technical decisions while proactively anticipating their evolving needs
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and communicating complex concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
- Develop and deliver technical content such as workshops, prototypes, and presentations and speak at events to help customers evaluate and adopt new technologies
- Lead technical discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concept activities to guide customer decision-making and drive innovation
- Contribute to organizational growth by providing product feedback to AWS engineering teams, participating in recruiting and interviewing, and mentoring teammates
A day in the life Your day as a Solutions Architect blends customer engagement, technical design, and hands-on building. You’ll meet with customers to understand their goals, design architectures to address their needs, and lead technical discussions to explore solutions. You build prototypes to help customers evaluate approaches, collaborate with account teams on next steps, or share best practices that accelerate adoption. Throughout the day, you’ll stay current with evolving technologies and continuously apply what you learn to help customers move forward with confidence.

Solutions Architects continuously develop their skills while helping customers move from initial ideas to building and scaling modern, cloud-native and AI-driven solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 3+ years of customer-facing work, engaging with customer executives, technologists or partners to solve business problems with advanced technologies experience
- Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into right solutions
- Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
- Experience designing and implementing Well-Architected solutions in distributed systems and cloud architectures
- Strong technical foundation in cloud architecture, data, AI/ML, and software development
- Familiarity with modern architectures such as microservices, serverless, and event-driven systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
- Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Retail, CPG, and Travel & Hospitality experience preferred
- Hands-on experience building or prototyping cloud, data, or AI/ML solutions
- Experience designing or implementing AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI and Agentic applications
- Experience with scripting, automation, or software development in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
