This role is a Solutions Engineer for Vanta, a company focused on security and compliance. The Solutions Engineer will work with commercial sales teams to lead technical discussions with mid-market customers and VIP logos, ensuring customers understand and realize the full value of Vanta's platform. Responsibilities include technical discovery, product demonstrations, integration deep dives, acting as a technical advisor, and providing customer feedback to the product team. The role requires pre-sales technical experience, cloud platform knowledge, and familiarity with scripting languages and APIs. While not directly building AI, the role is expected to be open to using AI tools to enhance their work.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead technical discovery with prospects to understand their security, compliance, cloud infrastructure, and development workflows.
  2. Partner closely with Account Executives to develop deal strategy, identify technical champions, and guide prospects through evaluation, proof-of-value, and purchase decisions.
  3. Deliver tailored product demonstrations, walkthroughs, and integration deep dives aligned to customer use cases and success criteria.
  4. Act as the primary technical advisor during the evaluation process, addressing technical objections, competitive comparisons, and solution fit.
  5. Develop and maintain deep expertise in our product capabilities, integrations, configurations, APIs, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape.

Skills

Required

  • 3-5 years of pre-sales customer-facing, technical experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or equivalent title
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure & Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture
  • Strong project management skills
  • Creative, curious, technical, and naturally persuasive
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to interact with various titles and roles within an organization including the technical and security-minded, plus executives within large companies
  • General knowledge with a scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, and JavaScript)

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with REST API development and service integrations
  • Prior B2B SaaS experience
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work
