Solutions Engineer role at F5, a cybersecurity company. This is a sales and technical support role focused on customers and partners, requiring technical skills in F5 products and their ecosystem. The primary objective is to achieve sales targets by understanding customer business needs and proposing effective solutions, articulating F5's product strategy and value proposition.

What you'd actually do

  1. Articulate the F5 product strategy, messaging and positioning F5’s value proposition and solutions for customer business objectives
  2. Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, solution demonstrations, proof of concepts by various mediums – in-person/virtual presentations, white boards etc
  3. Determine viability of opportunity and map out organizational structure.
  4. Drive the sales process in partnership with the Account Manager, by identifying the Technical Decision Maker, getting their technical validation, support, and sponsorship.
  5. Consistently provide world-class customer service through the customer life cycle

Skills

Required

  • Experience with routing/switching in production environments
  • Experience implementing Networking Function Virtualizations (NFV)
  • Basic competitive knowledge
  • Understanding of Instance Performance and Sizing
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Golang, etc.)
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years related industry experience
  • Advanced F5 solution knowledge and relevant experience in key competitor offerings preferred
  • Expert communication, presentation and account management skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with container orchestration solutions (eg: OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Relevant certifications a plus
  • Prior mentorship experience a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in leading initiatives
