Solutions Engineer role focused on the technical relationship with customers, driving technical evaluations and proof-of-concept engagements to accelerate deal velocity and increase win rates. The role involves providing market feedback to the product team and helping shape the product roadmap. While not directly building AI, the role is expected to be open to using AI to amplify skills and strengthen work.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the technical relationship with our customers
  2. Develop a deep understanding of our product capabilities, integrations, configurations messaging, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape.
  3. Listen carefully to prospects and clients to provide market feedback to the product team and help prioritize functionality needed to drive sales opportunities
  4. Support customers thought their trial process with Vanta
  5. Build product examples, documentation, and other critical resources for our customers

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of customer-facing, technical experience as a solutions engineer, sales engineer or equivalent title
  • Previous B2B SaaS experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure & Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to operate in a startup environment that lacks structure of a larger organization
  • Creative, technical, and naturally persuasive
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Love listening to customers, discussing strategy with colleagues, but also diving into the weeds.
  • General knowledge with a scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, and JavaScript) and a desire to expand those skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Familiar with REST API development and service integrations
  • Prior experience in the cybersecurity space
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
