Workday is seeking an experienced Global Sourcing Manager to support procurement activities in Japan and internationally. This role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and overseeing supplier relationships across various categories. The position requires strong stakeholder management, category management, and negotiation skills, with a focus on aligning procurement with business needs. Experience with AI tools for productivity and procurement is mentioned as a requirement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Stakeholder Management - Be a trusted advisor and partner to Workday’s internal and external business stakeholders, advising on procurement policies and strategies. A key responsibility will be building and managing Workday internal business partners.
  2. Teamwork - Partnership, communication and strong collaboration with other procurement team members located locally, regionally and globally.
  3. Category Management - Develop and execute strategies across multiple sourcing categories.
  4. Supplier Management - Manage key supplier relationships across the region. Identify, qualify and formalize which suppliers should be aligned with preferred supplier status based on segmentation modelling. Utilize this data to build supplier strategies.
  5. Negotiations - Lead the business negotiation process with internal partners and suppliers. Manage contract to completion. Develop negotiation approach, fallback positions, acceptable terms and conditions through to closure. Identify and manage all violations and exceptions to existing supplier contracts.
