What you'd actually do

  1. Help set technical direction for the group and beyond
  2. Identify and create essential processes, tools, standards, and design guides to build a knowledge-base and set best-practices
  3. Support Responsible Engineering Authorities (REAs) as needed to solve technical challenges, identify solutions, and develop verification tests
  4. As part of the team’s technical lead engineering (TLE) group, provide technical guidance to programs on an as-needed basis though activities such as attending design reviews and customer meetings, failure review and analysis, and trade study assessment
  5. Audit internal programs and external suppliers to identify industry best practices and opportunities for improvement

Skills

Required

  • Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
  • Aerospace hardware design and analysis
  • Spacecraft environments and testing
  • CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
