Spares and Rma Program Manager, Strategy

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

Program Manager for Spares and RMA, focusing on scaling Google's Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure by leading ML lifecycle planning, driving the Spares Business Case Review (BCR) process, and reducing ML Return Material Authorization (RMA) Cycle Time. Requires navigating evolving landscapes and securing alignment across cross-functional teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish a scalable NPI engagement model for Spares and RMA, ensuring early involvement (pre-BCR) to plan for capacity, risk buys, and FRU strategies.
  2. Orchestrate the Spares cost model post-BCR. Define key drivers, including quality, RMA, and lifecycle expectations, and align them with a comprehensive Spares cost strategy.
  3. Lead coordination with NPI, GHQR, GMO, and Finance to validate critical assumptions such as swap rates, cycle times, and deployment volumes.
  4. Manage cost model calculations to handle volatility. Implement a formal quarterly review process to validate assumptions and drive cross-functional gap resolution.
  5. Drive initiatives for CapEx avoidance and hardware reuse. Produce metrics on total capex and inventory efficiency gained via the reverse supply chain. Advocate the AI2 How culture by fostering ownership and high performance within the FRU Planning and RMA team.
