This role is for a Specialist in Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Database Administration at a new Eli Lilly manufacturing facility. The primary focus is on building, maintaining, and optimizing the LDAR database to ensure data integrity, component tracking, and compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, IDEM, cGMP). The role involves reconciling drawings with database records, creating monitoring routes, providing technical support for the LDAR program, and assisting with training and audits. It is a greenfield site, so the role will evolve from initial setup to steady-state management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the LDAR database administrator, including creation and assignment of monitoring routes
  2. Reconcile revised process drawings with the LDAR database, in collaboration with the LDAR Associate, to ensure accurate component counts
  3. Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site LDAR program, including procedures, tools, and management systems
  4. Ensure compliance with EPA, IDEM, and cGMP regulatory requirements, including applicable NSPS (40 CFR Part 60) and NESHAP (40 CFR Part 63) subparts for pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing
  5. Assist with maintaining accurate records of all LDAR-related activities, including monitoring data, repair logs, and compliance reports

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, refinery, petrochemical, or related industrial manufacturing with a focus on LDAR and environmental compliance
  • Experience developing and/or managing LDAR programs
  • Experience with environmental monitoring tools and software (e.g., LDAR database platforms)
  • High school diploma required

Nice to have

  • technical certification or associate degree in environmental technology, instrumentation, or a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LDAR regulatory requirements (IDEM and/or EPA) and best practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and coordinate across multiple teams and functions
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
