Sr Analyst, Business Systems

This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting user stories and requirements for business applications. It involves understanding organizational functions, facilitating communication between business units and solution providers, and assessing system impacts and process improvements. The role requires technical assistance in developing cost-effective systems that meet user needs and performing gap and cost/benefit analyses for initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Fosters business knowledge and understanding among business systems analysts and project stakeholders. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs.
  2. Elicits and evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requests.
  3. Facilitates requirement sessions with stakeholders and creates comprehensive work products documenting requirements, including validation and traceability of requests. Has understanding on how projects align to broader organizational goals and business benefit.
  4. Provides SME leadership and consulting support on complex tasks. Initiate and execute initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team. Reviews deliverables and provides input for other analysts. Strong understanding of all business channels.
  5. Creates and determines modeling approach to represent requirement information in graphical forms that augment textual representation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Quantitative discipline
  • 4-7 years Systems analysis experience with understanding strategic business information systems
  • Advance knowledge of utilizing and writing SQL queries using output/results for executive level presentation
  • Communication - Ability to create presentations for both verbal and written presentations
