**Essential Responsibilities: **
- Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
- Advises immediate management on project-level issues
- Guides junior engineers
- Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
- Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
- Designs, develops, and maintains Android SDK components for PayPal's TapToPay product, ensuring compatibility across internal as well as external integrations.
- Contributes to initiatives concerning and implementing NFC-based payment flows in compliance with relevant security and certification standards.
- Collaborates with iOS engineers, backend teams, and external integrators to deliver consistent cross-platform payment experiences.
- Participates in code reviews and contributes to improving team coding standards and development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Android SDK development, ideally in a payments, fintech, or mobile commerce context.
- Familiarity with NFC technologies and contactless payment standards.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices.
- Familiarity with MPoC concept is a strong plus
