Sr Applied Scientist
Uber is seeking a Sr Applied Scientist to develop and deploy novel AI models and systems, with a focus on agentic systems and LLMs. This role involves contributing to the full lifecycle of AI products, from research and development to deployment and iteration.
What you'd actually do
- Develop and deploy novel AI models and systems
- Design and implement agentic systems and LLM-based solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into Uber's products
- Conduct research and experimentation to advance the state-of-the-art in AI
- Mentor junior scientists and engineers
Skills
Required
- PhD or MS in Computer Science, AI, or related field
- Proven experience in developing and deploying AI models
- Strong understanding of LLMs and agentic systems
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
Nice to have
- Experience with RAG and vector databases
- Familiarity with MLOps practices
- Publications in top-tier AI conferences
