Sr. Applied Scientist, Amazon Publisher Monetization - Ads

This role focuses on developing and launching AI-based solutions for advertising, specifically in contextual targeting and ad syndication. The scientist will work with generative AI, computer vision, and large language models to maximize yield and deliver engaging ads. Responsibilities include partnering with Product and Engineering, driving end-to-end applied science projects, providing technical leadership, and researching new machine learning approaches.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner deeply with Product and Engineering to develop AI-based solutions to generating contextual signals across both video (VOD and Live) and display ads.
  2. Drive end-to-end applied science projects that have a high degree of ambiguity, scale, complexity.
  3. Provide technical/science leadership related to computer vision, large language models and contextual targeting.
  4. Research new and innovative machine learning approaches.
  5. Partner with Applied Scientists across the broader org to make the most of prior art and contribute back to this community the innovation that you come up with.

Skills

Required

  • building machine learning models for business application
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to have

  • modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
  • large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
