Sr. Architect Workload Driven Power and Energy Modeling

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Austin, TX · Engineering

AMD is seeking a technical leader to define and scale workload-driven power and energy modeling across CPU cores and SoC platforms. This role will connect workload behavior to architecture, design, and implementation decisions, improving early insight and enabling better performance-per-watt tradeoffs. The candidate will partner across Methodology, Cores Architecture, SoC Architecture, and Physical Design to build methods that scale across products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define long-term strategy for workload-driven power and energy modeling across CPU and SoC platforms
  2. Expand modeling across server, agentic, and client workloads, and extend current methods toward energy modeling
  3. Turn deep expertise in power modeling, analysis, and optimization into AI-first agentic workflows that help deliver the next 5% in perf/W
  4. Partner across Methodology, Cores Architecture, SoC Architecture, and Physical Design to turn workload insight into practical methods and better product decisions
  5. Use competitive analysis to find gaps and guide optimization priorities
