Sr Associate Automation Analyst - Workday Success Plans

This role focuses on automating manual business processes within Workday's Success Plans (WSP) organization. The Senior Associate Automation Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements, design, build, and maintain automation solutions using tools like SQL, Python, and REST APIs. The goal is to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency, quality, and speed of business workflows. While AI agents are mentioned as a 'plus', the core function is automation development and analysis, not AI/ML model building.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with internal partners to identify, define, and clarify business requirements.
  2. Demonstrate business knowledge and expertise to uncover process gaps and work multi-functionally to formulate plans to improve support models.
  3. Collaborate with functional owners, domain specialists and end-user representatives to clearly understand business requirements and translate them into detailed technical requirements.
  4. Build detailed reports/dashboards to help identify trends and gaps in business workflows.
  5. Independently design, propose, and implement end-to-end automation solutions from scratch using the available tech stack, including but not limited to, SQL, Python, REST APIs, Google App Script.

Skills

Required

  • professional experience in an automation developer, data analyst, or similar technical role focused on building or supporting automated workflows
  • scripting or programming languages (for example, Python, JavaScript/NodeJS)
  • working with data using SQL

  • building AI agents for extensive workflows across multiple applications
  • Smartsheet (formulas, automated workflows, dashboards, reports)
  • gathering and documenting business requirements, translating them into clear technical specifications, and mapping business needs to application capabilities
  • design, implement, and iterate on technical automation solutions that streamline business processes and improve data quality and visibility
  • supporting UAT and production readiness, including identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving bugs and issues, and partnering with users to validate solutions
  • analytical and problem-solving skills, including a grasp of relational data concepts and comfort working with datasets using SQL and tools such as Python or R
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in a way that resonates with functional end users and senior partners
