Sr Associate, Corporate Strategy

PayPal PayPal · Fintech · New York, NY +4 · Corporate Strategy

This role is for a Senior Associate in Corporate Strategy at PayPal. The primary focus is on identifying and developing new strategic bets and business concepts within the rapidly evolving payments landscape, with a particular emphasis on how AI is impacting commerce. The role involves market sizing, competitive analysis, business case development, and collaborating with various teams to bring strategic initiatives to life. While the role uses AI tools and considers AI's impact on commerce, it does not involve building AI models or systems directly.

What you'd actually do

  1. Dig into the strategic questions PayPal's senior leadership cares about most - market sizing, competitive positioning, partnership opportunities, growth strategy - and develop the analysis and recommendations that drive decisions
  2. Build original strategic content: business cases, competitive assessments, investment frameworks, and executive narratives that are sharp, well-reasoned, and built to persuade
  3. Incubate new product and business concepts from the ground up - pressure-testing ideas, developing go-to-market hypotheses, and building the early-stage business cases that determine whether an opportunity is worth pursuing
  4. Collaborate across Product, Finance, Sales, and Partnerships to take strategic initiatives from early framing all the way through to execution - including, at times, standing up net-new initiatives that didn't exist before
  5. Help raise the bar for how the team works by bringing strong analytical instincts and a habit of sharing frameworks and approaches that make everyone sharper
