Sr Associate Scientist I or Ii, Gpcr Biology

Iambic Iambic · Pharma · San Diego, CA · Science

This role is for a Senior Associate Scientist in GPCR Biology at Iambic Therapeutics, a company that uses an AI-driven platform for drug discovery. The candidate will support in vitro cell-based assays to advance pre-clinical projects, working with a cross-functional team that includes machine learning experts. The core responsibilities involve designing and conducting in vitro studies, managing CRO scientists, executing cell-based assays, interpreting data, and contributing to lab management. While the company uses AI, the role itself is focused on biological assay execution and data analysis, not direct AI/ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work closely with the Biology group to independently conceptualize, design and conduct in vitro studies aimed at supporting hit to lead medicinal chemistry efforts targeting GPCRs
  2. Independently manage CRO scientists in the design, development, and implementation of in vitro assays for the advancement of GPCR projects
  3. Execute weekly cell-based assays to screen/evaluate small molecule compounds in coordination with Biology, Chemistry, and Compound Management groups
  4. Interpret and analyze scientific data and work with cross functional teams to QC/communicate data in a timely manner
  5. Present experimental results/updates at team meetings
