What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, program, and support automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, vision systems, and process controls.
  2. Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, including requirements definition, system design, testing, and deployment.
  3. Conduct testing and troubleshooting of automation systems to ensure functionality and performance.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation, controls, and integration issues to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  5. Develop and maintain control logic, documentation, standards, and best practices for automation systems.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics, motion control, and/or machine vision systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and integration with plant-floor automation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA, IEC, OSHA, and safety-rated controls.
  • Project leadership or informal team lead experience.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
