This role is for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer on the Amazon Leo Electronic Supply Chain (ESC) team. The primary focus is on building analytics and toolsets to support the ESC team by providing data-driven insights. Responsibilities include building and managing data infrastructure, developing analytics products, simplifying data access, and enabling self-service insights through tooling, automation, data analysis, and statistical modeling. The role aims to continuously measure KPIs and empower the team with necessary data and insights.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work closely with the Amazon Leo Electronic Supply Chain team to understand their challenges and provide analysis to guide decision making.
  2. Own data gathering, manipulation, and storage as well as synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
  3. Develop key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall performance and provide foundation for continuous improvement.
  4. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon Leo’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use.
  5. Build self-service reporting platforms, establishing automated processes for large scale data analysis.

Required

  • SQL
  • AWS technologies
  • Cloud Storage and Computing technologies (AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Data visualization (Tableau, Quicksight, or similar)
  • Scripting for automation (e.g. Python)
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

  • Working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
