This role is for a Sr. Buyer at AMD, focusing on indirect procurement activities to ensure supply, manage costs, and mitigate risks. What you'd actually do

  1. Develop procurement strategies and present them to procurement leadership; own and drive execution of the aligned strategy.
  2. Plan, organize, and manage contracts and negotiations for the strategic acquisition of indirect goods and services.
  3. Lead supplier contract management, negotiations, and comprehensive supplier management strategies across global, regional, and local environments.
  4. Facilitate supplier agreement negotiations, renegotiations, and contract addendums.
  5. Build and maintain a robust supplier network to support capacity requirements and manage global supply chain challenges.

Skills

Required

  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect procurement with a focus on indirect facility categories
  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM)
  • Demonstrated effective advanced computer skills
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proficiency in SAP procurement transactions
  • Proficiency in Ariba or equivalent e-procurement system
  • Requisition-to-payment process experience
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing/commodity/spend category management methodology
  • BS/BA degree in a related technical or business field or MBA plus experience in a related technical or business field.

Nice to have

  • Specific education or experience in SCM preferred.
  • Green Belt certification preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma methodology
