Sr. Cloud Engineer, Falcon Cloud Security (hybrid)

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for their Cloud Security Product Group. This role will focus on extending CrowdStrike's mission of stopping breaches into public cloud and cloud-native workloads, providing customers with the ability to monitor, track, harden, and protect their cloud-native resources against attacks. The engineer will lead backend efforts, leverage and build cloud-based systems for threat detection and intelligence production, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. The role requires strong backend engineering skills, understanding of distributed systems, and experience with cloud platforms and related technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
  2. Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at a global scale
  3. Brainstorm, define and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams
  4. Obsess about learning, and champion the newest technologies & tricks with others, raising the technical IQ of the team
  5. Work in a startup-like environment with a small fast-moving team

Skills

Required

  • Degree in Computer Science (or professional experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems)
  • Understanding scalability and distributed systems i.e. sharding, partitioning, concurrency, etc
  • Being a team player
  • A thorough understanding of engineering best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architecture.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment.
  • The skills to meet your commitments on time and produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Nice to have

  • Contributions to the open-source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging)
  • Existing exposure to Go, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch...
  • Prior experience in the cybersecurity or intelligence fields
