Sr. Compliance Specialist, Aws Global Trade & Product Compliance

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Seattle, WA · Project/Program/Product Management--Non-Tech

This role is for a Sr. Compliance Specialist at AWS Global Trade & Product Compliance. The primary focus is on developing and overseeing global product compliance strategies, interacting with various internal and external stakeholders to drive operational policies and controls. The role involves regulatory research, intelligence management, agency engagement, change monitoring, records management, and auditing to ensure AWS hardware is imported/exported compliantly across operating countries. It emphasizes proactive compliance and market access.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end-to-end governance controls, SOPs, and policy frameworks across Regulatory Operations — regulatory research, intelligence management, agency engagement, change monitoring, records management, and compliance auditing.
  2. Define and execute a scalable regulatory research methodology at country and product level across all target markets.
  3. Build a regulatory intelligence system with intake workflows, data quality standards, and refresh cadences that reduce market-access cycle time and eliminate regulatory surprises late in development.
  4. Operationalize engagement protocols and stakeholder maps for government contacts across all jurisdictions.
  5. Own global regulatory change monitoring; maintain impact assessment frameworks quantifying risk to market access, timelines, and cost — shifting the organization from reactive to proactive compliance posture.
