Seeking a Sr. Corrosion Engineer to design, execute, and analyze vehicle tests for environmental exposure and stone impact. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on materials, coatings, and applications, supporting test development, collaborating with stakeholders to address corrosion risks, managing test programs, and integrating feedback into product improvements. Requires a degree in a related engineering field and 5+ years of experience in failure analysis, vehicle testing, and project management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide technical guidance and recommendation on material selection, platings, coatings, and applications with guidance from more experienced team members.
  2. Support test development projects to improve methodology, modify specifications, and define/establish requirements.
  3. Responsible for collaboration and coordination with stakeholder and cross-functional teams to address corrosion risks, concerns and failures.
  4. Manage end-to-end planning, coordination, preparation, documentation and execution of vehicle-level corrosion test programs.
  5. Log, categorize, and prioritize test findings and issues.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in failure analysis, vehicle testing, project management and stakeholder management, including applicable internship experience.
  • Experience in automotive testing procedures and standards.
  • Understanding of various vehicle systems, subsystem interactions and failure modes.
  • Knowledge of relevant automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

  • An understanding of corrosion engineering, vehicle diagnostics, materials science, protective coatings and surface treatments.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
