This role is for a Sr. Counsel, Regulatory at Pinterest, focusing on global regulatory engagement related to content, online safety, intermediary liability, and competition. What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with Pinterest’s regulators globally, with a focus on content regulation, online safety, intermediary liability, and competition.
  2. Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, requests for information, and other regulatory-facing matters, including coordinating with internal subject matter experts and outside counsel as needed.
  3. Draft clear, persuasive materials for regulatory engagements including consultation responses, regulatory submissions, position papers, and related communications.
  4. Defend the company in regulatory enforcement matters.
  5. Provide strategic legal guidance to cross-functional partners and members of the Legal team on emerging regulatory requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Qualified to practice law in the jurisdiction where you reside.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience advising on content, platform, or other regulatory issues at a law firm, in-house, or at a regulatory body.
  • Experience engaging directly with regulators and managing regulatory inquiries, investigations, enforcement matters, or other government-facing processes.
  • Strong experience analyzing and applying global laws and regulatory frameworks, preferably in content regulation, online safety, intermediary liability, privacy, or other technology-related areas.
  • Excellent judgment and integrity, with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues, as well as nuanced product interventions, into clear, practical responses.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with an ability to drive alignment across teams in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with independence, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI and other technology tools effectively and responsibly and identify practical opportunities to improve effectiveness, or willingness to learn.

Nice to have

  • Experience navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional legal and compliance issues for a technology company or similarly dynamic environment preferred.
  • Experience with implementation and compliance with global content laws, preferred.
