Sr. Developer Advocate - Neon

Developer Advocate role focused on the Neon Serverless Postgres platform, engaging with application and agent developers. The role involves maintaining SDKs, creating technical content, community engagement, and gathering feedback to influence product direction, with a focus on staying ahead of the AI curve and supporting AI-driven development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Enhance and develop customer-facing SDKs & libraries to empower builders to succeed with Neon
  2. Create developer-focused content that helps Neon users discover new features, solve real problems, and grow their skills on the platform.
  3. Drive adoption and excitement not just by speaking at events, but by engaging with the community, building connections, and strengthening a shared sense of belonging.
  4. Produce educational and community-focused assets: videos, tutorials, sample projects, blog posts, and resources driven by community feedback and questions.
  5. Expand and engage the Neon community through conference presence and online spaces (e.g., Discord).

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience as a Developer Advocate, software engineer, solutions architect, or a related role.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of outcomes and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Professional experience building and shipping software or data solutions.
  • Demonstrated skill in creating impactful technical content tailored to developers.
  • Deep empathy for developer needs, with the ability to provide clear answers in community spaces.
  • Mastery in at least one core advocacy skill (e.g., public speaking, technical writing, live demos, curriculum development).
  • Applied expertise in specific product components, with the ability to translate them into practical guidance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
  • Track record of active involvement in developer communities (meetups, forums, open source, user groups) and success collaborating across functions to achieve shared goals.
