Sr Director, Account Executive

Visa is seeking a results-driven, tech-curious Senior Director, Account Executive to sell their portfolio of payments solutions. The role involves defining account strategies, building client relationships, managing sales pipelines, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electronic payments and a proven track record in sales and negotiation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee and execute account strategy, annual plans, manage client relationships, and coordinate sales and post-sale resources like Specialist Sellers and Client Success Managers.
  2. Orchestrate key sales motions across different sales and support functions (Specialist Sellers, Sales Engineers, Client Success Managers, etc.)
  3. Oversee client revenue, driving upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts identifying compelling value propositions that address customer needs
  4. Manage new business development and expansion of existing accounts by identifying client pain points
  5. Oversee pipeline management, new sales opportunities, negotiations, and deal closing

Skills

Required

  • 12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Deep expertise in electronic payments and emerging payment trends
  • Proven ability to consistently exceed sales targets and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex sales efforts
  • Courage to communicate quickly key challenges and shifts required to ensure goals are met
  • Proven ability to negotiate agreements and contracts effectively, ensuring favorable terms and successful outcomes.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant laws and regulations specific to the industry, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making.
  • Ability to implement strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
  • Ability to look at opportunities from the client’s perspective and consider implications for implementation that are broader than Visa
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with all levels including executive management
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analysis skills, and a proven track record of creating solutions that increase revenue
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage and grow internal and external resources and cross functional relationships
