(sr.) Director/ Head of Compensation

Verkada is seeking a Director/Head of Compensation to build and lead the compensation function for their AI-powered physical security platform. This role will own the global compensation strategy, develop various compensation programs, and partner with various teams to make pay decisions. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in compensation, strong analytical skills, and experience in a high-growth technology business.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and refine Verkada’s global compensation strategy
  2. Develop multiple programs – e.g., merit cycles, equity refresh, special awards
  3. Review and analyze market data and work with People Partners to really understand how our roles map to them
  4. Partner with Finance, People Partners, Recruiters, Hiring Managers, and Executives on pay decisions, compensation process & policies and job evaluation.
  5. Build tools and processes to streamline all compensation workflows, from job posting to internal approvals to merit cycles and ongoing equity refresh programs.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of experience building out Compensation
  • 10+ years total work experience
  • Experience in a high growth technology business (pre-IPO or recently post)
  • A data-driven mindset with strong analytical and modeling skills.
  • Great influence skills: You are a strong communicator, and able to build trust quickly and effectively.
