Job Description
The Senior Director, Head of Crypto – Europe will lead Visa’s regional strategy and execution across crypto‑related partnerships, products, and go‑to‑market initiatives. This role is responsible for building and scaling Visa’s crypto business across Europe by engaging with leading global and regional crypto platforms, fintechs, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners.
The role sits within Visa Europe’s Growth Products & Partnerships organization and combines strategic partnership leadership, commercial execution, product enablement, and thought leadership. The Senior Director will act as Visa’s regional subject‑matter expert on crypto, oversee a team of crypto sales and product specialists, and lead the center of excellence for crypto initiatives in support of local market teams.
Key Responsibilities
Crypto Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
- Develop and manage Visa’s relationships with key global and regional crypto partners (including exchanges, wallets, infrastructure providers, and fintechs) to drive new lines of business, innovation, and long‑term strategic growth across Europe.
- Define and execute the European crypto partnership strategy, aligned with Visa’s global priorities and regional market needs.
- Identify emerging crypto trends, use cases, and business models and translate them into scalable partnership and commercial opportunities.
Product Enablement & Solution Adoption
- Drive the development, positioning, and adoption of Visa crypto solutions across European markets in close collaboration with global and regional product teams.
- Act as a regional crypto SME, supporting solution design, client engagements, and internal education across sales, product, risk, legal, and compliance teams.
- Support pilots, launches, and scaling of crypto‑enabled solutions across multiple European markets.
Go‑To‑Market & Commercial Execution
- Lead go‑to‑market (GTM) activities for crypto initiatives in Europe, including market prioritization, partner targeting, and commercialization strategies.
- Own regional pipeline development and management for crypto initiatives, working closely with country teams, account executives, and global partners.
- Support complex commercial discussions and negotiations with strategic crypto partners.
Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Engage senior stakeholders internally and externally on crypto‑related matters, including regional leadership, global product teams, and strategic partners.
- Represent Visa at industry events, conferences, and external forums on crypto topics, strengthening Visa’s leadership position and brand in the ecosystem.
- Partner with policy, regulatory, and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and informed engagement on crypto‑related topics.
Leadership & Center of Excellence
- Lead and develop a team of crypto sales and product specialists, setting clear priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Serve as the center of excellence for crypto topics in Europe, providing guidance, best practices, and enablement to local market teams.
- Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration across product, sales, risk, legal, compliance, and operations teams.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- Experience in payments, fintech, crypto, financial services, or technology‑driven partnerships.
- Crypto/digital asset industry experience.
- Deep understanding of the crypto and digital assets ecosystem, including exchanges, wallets, and crypto‑enabled payment use cases.
- Proven experience building and managing strategic partnerships and driving commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading senior individual contributors and/or managers.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in GTM execution and pipeline management.
- Experience operating in a complex, matrixed, multinational organization.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel across Europe and globally as required.
